Our Mission:
To Serve Those Who Protect Others.
100% powered by volunteers, and your donation
The Block Foundation provides support to veterans and first responders in the State of Texas during tough times. We empower our heroes to recover or retrain; whatever it takes to live their lives to the fullest. We are there for them just as they are there for others.
Tactical Response
Working one-on-one, providing information and liaison services for veterans, first responders, and their families.
Community Events
Fundraising for specific needs in our community, whether it be a new fire truck for a volunteer brigade or building a new home to suit the needs of a recovering hero.
Emergency Relief Support
We ease the financial burden of rehabilitation and costs experienced by veterans and first responders. We bridge the gap between immediate need and official support.
We utilize the power of the community to fulfill our mission. Through donations and networking, we support, fundraise and create action plans for recovery.
The Block Foundation – a community of Texan veterans and first responders supporting each other to stay strong.

Gary Weiland - Fire Fighter
When my leg was amputated in 2018, I didn’t know what I was going to do.
I was a 39-year-old firefighter with 4 very active children. I was in pain physically and mentally. I needed a way to stay active until my prosthetic leg was finished. That’s when I heard about The Block Foundation, they stepped up and bought specialized crutches to allow me to do just that. Being able to comfortably get around made a HUGE difference both physically and mentally. I was able to get back to fighting fire 10 months later and part of that was because of The Block Foundation. I can’t thank them enough for their support.
About The Block Foundation
The men and women who serve our community put their lives at risk every day; we do so willingly, we live to help others, but we also see and do things that can extract a heavy toll on our physical and mental wellbeing. When we join a service, we swear to be there for each other, in and out of uniform.
- Curtis Bell, Executive Director
We live by the code of no one left behind; those we serve are our family, and when hurt, we support each other till able to stand again.
An official 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, created in memory of friends and colleagues lost too soon.
Established by veterans and first responders, the Block Foundation team has witnessed first-hand the devastating toll keeping Americans safe has on the heroes who serve. Our heroes are the first on the scene but the last to ask for help. We exist to better the lives of those who serve when life throws them a curveball. So they can get back to doing what they love, keeping America safe.
Our mission:
to serve those who protect others.
The Block Foundation doesn’t provide programs for recovery, counseling services, or social work. Instead, we act as a go-between putting people in touch with others who can help, acting on their behalf when necessary, and filling the gap when funds are tight, but the needs are high. It may be as simple as a voucher for gas, so someone can make it to their medical appointment or as complex as staging a fundraising event to replace a home lost to a tornado without insurance.
Based within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, we support veterans and first responders throughout Texas.
